|
In this heartwarming family drama, after a father returns to Montana following World War II, his daughter has to adjust not only to his return but to her own budding womanhood. As a young girl ascends into adulthood, she discovers, and learns to accept, her parents' human frailties. The period following World War II was a boom time for most, but the stresses of the long separation during the war and her father's unemployment have taken a toll on Sally Mae Parker's family. She watches her parents grow apart, as her pregnant mother turns to religion and her father turns to another woman. During this time of transition, the daughter is caught between her parents' troubles and her own desires. |
