Bob Cooper (guest star Dylan Baker, Thirteen Days), an FBI administrator, arrives in New York with questions about the manner in which Preecher is handling stripper Victoria Tomkin's murder investigation. In an effort to uncover the truth, he approaches Day to be his office spy.

Mooney's sister, who suffers from Lou Gehrig's Disease is not fairing well and confesses that she is tired of fighting her disease and that they must accept her fate. Howard Klein is brought in for questioning when a fellow cop plants heroin on him. After being released from the precinct by a sympathetic Mooney (who warns Klein he may be the target of a hit), Klein is followed by Terry Maddock who has been paid to kill him. Klein narrowly escapes being stabbed when he experiences heart palpitations while being tailed by Maddock at Port Authority.

"A Passport to the Universe"
March 21st

Following the warehouse bust, Mooney, Trout and Flynn use one of the men arrested as well as a strip club informant to broaden their stripper murder investigation.

Mooney comes to the realization that his sister who is fighting Lou Gehrig's Disease does not have much longer to live and with the help of fellow officers in the department he arranges to take her to see the Passport To The Universe show at the planetarium, something she has longed to see. In an emotional scene, Mooney tells Trout that whenever he hears him (Mooney) complaining about the job, to remember what his fellow officers went out of their way for him to help make his sister's last wish come true.

Jimmy Flynn has ambivalent feelings about having removed the illegal surveillance from the back room of Terry Maddock's bar. Preecher compliments Day on her appearance the night before and lets her know that he knows that she left the fundraiser early the night before to help Flynn remove the illegal surveillance camera. Day reveals to Preecher that Cooper is worried about him and fears he may have lost bureau perspective and might sully his career and was asked to keep an eye on him and report back to Cooper.

Mogilevich tells Terry that he is worried that Corelli and Chris who were arrested at the warehouse might turn on informant against them. Terry tells him not to worry that he has Chris under control.

Chris refuses initially to sign his "Own Recognizance" release papers fearing others on the streets will think he ratted them out. Eventually he gives in but Flynn tells him if he ever suspects who put the finger on him and asks, Flynn will let him know if he is right.

Jimmy Flynn meets undercover agent Mitya who has infiltrated the Russian mob and told him that Corelli has agreed to wear a wire to help the Feds arrest Mogilevich therefore Mitya won't have to testify and can remain safely undercover.

Terry tells Chris that Mogilevich wants him to whack him because he doesn't trust him. Chris is angry because he realizes the cops put a stink on him hoping he would run back to them for protection and turn informant. Chris says he would rather die on the streets than turn rat informant. Terry tells Chris its time to forget the past and his girlfriend Vicki Tomkins and to live in the present.

With Mooney and Trout in van listening to surveillance, a wired Corelli goes to the strip club to get Mogilevich to incriminate himself. Prior to which Mogilevich has ordered Mitya to kill Corelli there in the club. While sitting and talking to Corelli, Mogilevich yells repeatedly in Russian for Mitya to kill him and Mitya keeps stalling pretending his silencer won't fit in the gun and finally to he puts on a loud music which alarms Mooney and Trout who sense there is a problem so they walk in and tell Corelli to leave and start interrogating Mogilevich abut the Tomkins murder. Mooney says he knows Klein is covering for the real murderer, that is not his apartment and never met the victim and that he knows that Mogilevich knows who did kill her and he had better start cooperating with the investigation if he doesn't want his club taken away from him.

Mooney takes his sister to see the show
at the planetarium and both sense this will be their last outing together as her death is drawing near.
